Iran’s VP Urges Int’l Effort to Push UP Oil Price

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said Iran will continue its efforts to regain its share in oil market, and called for concerted international effort to help boost oil price.

Speaking at a meeting with Venezuelan Vice President for Economic Affairs Miguel Perez Abad in Tehran on Saturday, Jahangiri pointed to sharp drop in oil prices in recent months, and said all big oil producing countries should try to restore a real price for oil.

As regards Iran’s oil production in coming months, he said the country will continue to boost oil production volume until restoring its pre-sanction share in oil market.

He reiterated Iran’s capability to lower its dependent on oil revenues and meet its strategic needs in oil sector, adding that Iran is ready to share its experiences with Venezuela.

Also at the meeting, Perez Abad urged joint economic commission for fulfilling the policies set by the two countries’ presidents for cooperation.
