Iran Professional League: Tractor Sazi, Naft Tehran Lose
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Tractor Sazi and Naft Tehran football teams suffered defeat against their rivals at the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday.
Tractor Sazi, who has advanced to the AFC Champions League next stage, lost to struggling Siahjamegan 2-1 in Mashhad.
Mohammad Iranpourian put the visiting team into the lead in the 33rd minute from the penalty spot.
With eight minutes remaining, Hossein Zamehran equalized the match and Alireza Naghizadeh scored the winner in the dying moments of the match.
Sepahan edged past Naft Tehran at the Takhti Stadium in Tehran 1-0 thanks to an Amin Manouchehri’s goal in the 89th minute.
Zob Ahan was also held to a 1-1 draw against Saba in Isfahan Fooladshahr Stadium.
Morteza Tabrizi scored for Zob Ahan in the 13th minute and Farshid Bagheri levelled the score in the 54th minute.
Persepolis tops the IPL table with 51 points, followed by Esteghlal (48), Esteghlal Khuzestan (48) and Tractor Sazi (42).
