Suspicious Package Found at Milan Train Station ahead of Champions League Final

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Two lines on Milan’s metro service have been suspended and a station has been evacuated after a suspicious package was discovered.

The Italian city’s San Siro stadium is set to host the final of the Champions League tonight between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.

Police said a suspicious package was found on the stairs outside Cadorna, a station on the city’s metro line.

Cadorna is one of the city’s busiest rail stations, Metro.co.uk website reported.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the M1 line was stopped between Cairoli and Pagano and the M2 line was stopped between Garibaldi and Porta Genova.

The majority of fans travelling to the game would likely have to travel through Cadorna to get to the San Siro.

A bomb squad has determined that the suspicious items are not dangerous. Normal train circulation has now resumed.
