Iran Beats Iraq at WABA Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran earned its third successive victory in the 16th WABA (West Asia Basketball Association) Championship on Wednesday.

The Iranian team defeated Iraq 79-50 in Amman, Jordan.

Dirk Bauermann’s men had already defeated Lebanon 81-75 and Syria 93-63 respectively.

Iran will play Jordan on Thursday.

The WABA Championship serves as a qualifier for the 2016 FIBA Asia Challenge.

Iran is preparing for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT), slated for July 4-9.
