Iran Wins Second Victory in FIBA Asia Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's national basketball team clinched its second victory in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship in the Philippines.

The Iranian basketball players beat South Korea 76-65 in a Group C match at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Friday.

With the second straight victory in the tournament, Iran emphatically showed its intention to reclaim the Asian championship.

On Thursday, the Iranian team marked the most incredible final score in a 90-point margin of victory, and trounced Malaysia 115-25.

The Iranian national basketball squad will play against China on Saturday.

The 2013 FIBA Asia Championship opened in the Philippines on August 1, and will wrap up on August 11. A total of 15 teams are competing in the sports event.

Iran is now at the top of Group C with four points. China has taken the second position with 3 points followed by South Korea with 3 and Malaysia with 2 points.
