Iran Wins Beach Wrestling World Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran claimed the title of the Beach Wrestling World Championship 2016 on Sunday.

The three-day competition held in Fazana, Croatia.

The Iranian team claimed four gold medals and won the title with 40 points.

Greece and Turkey finished in second and third place respectively.

Mohammad Naderi seized the gold medal in the 70kg after defeating his rivals from Turkey, Romania, Brazil and Greece.

In the 80kg, Peyman Heydari claimed the gold after defeating his opponents from Turkey, Greece, Hungary and Russia.

Mohammad Sadati in the 90kg grabbed Iran’s third medal after beating wrestlers from Norway, Romania, Hungary and Greece.

And Jaber Sadeghzadeh took a gold medal in the 90kg weight category, defeating wrestlers from Greece and Turkey.

Iran junior team had also won the title with three gold medals and youth team finished in second place with two gold medals.
