Victory over Bulgaria Was Great: Saeid Marouf
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saeid Marouf, captain of the Iranian national volleyball team, says that the victory over Bulgaria was great although his team didn’t play well.
Iran prevailed over Bulgaria 3-1 (18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-20) in the opening match of the second week in FIVB Volleyball World League with a Group 1 match in Belgrade.
“This is a great victory for us, having in mind that we did not play well at all. We managed to pull ourselves together after the first set and it all went well in the end,” Marouf said.
“On Friday we play against Brazil, and we are looking forward to that game. We have to play much better, but I hope that we can claim a good result,” he added.
Iran will play powerhouse Brazil and Serbia on Friday and Saturday respectively.
