NAM Holds Monthly Meeting Chaired by Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations Gholamali Khoshroo chaired a monthly meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement (CoB-NAM) in New York, which focused the past and future activities of the movement.

During the meeting held at the UN headquarters in New York on Monday, Khoshroo briefed the participants on his activities over the past month, including his efforts to reflect NAM’s positions in various international meetings.

He also expounded on previous meetings held by the Iranian mission to the UN with the aim of making the arrangements for the upcoming NAM Summit due to be held in Venezuela later this year.

The NAM working groups also briefed the participants in the monthly meeting on their June activities.

The Non-Aligned Movement is a group of states which are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc.

The Islamic Republic of Iran currently holds the chairmanship of the movement.
