Iran Arrests Man on Charges of Spying for Israel

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran announced that its security forces have arrested a man on charges of spying for Israel.

Head of Iran's southeastern province of Kerman's Revolutionary Court Dadkhoda Salari said Monday that Iranian intelligence forces arrested an Iranian national in Kerman.

He said the spy was involved in trade activities in Southeast Asian states and had earlier passed information about Iran to Israel's embassy in Bangkok.

Salari stated that the spy tried to pass further information on Iran's economy, geography, and even mines of Kerman province to Israel in his second visit, but he could not do so, Press TV reported.

Last year, Iran's Intelligence Ministry announced that the country's intelligence forces have identified and arrested all  elements behind the assassination of the country's nuclear scientists.

The ministry said elements behind the assassinations of the Iranian scientists Massoud Ali-Mohammadi, Majid Shahriari and Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan were arrested over the course of investigation by the country's intelligence forces, and added that some of the perpetrators of the assassination the current head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Fereidoun Abbasi, were among those arrested.
