Iran to Face China in FIBA Asia U-18 Championship Quarters

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian basketball team handed Lebanon its first loss at the 2016 FIBA Asia U-18 Championship on Wednesday and will face China in the quarter-final.

China is the only team to get past the Group Phase undefeated as Iran defeated Lebanon 76-54 in Tehran’s Azadi Hall.

The host got 13 points each from Ehsan Samadi and Amirhossein Khandanpoor and finished 3-2 in the group. Lebanon, who got 14 points from Mark Alkhoury, still locked up first place in Group B with a 4-1 record. The Lebanese will face India in the quarter-final.

The top three teams from the 24th FIBA Asia U-18 Championship will represent Asia at the 2017 FIBA U-19 World Championship.
