Syrian Army Cleans North of Dara'a from Terrorists

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Syrian army on Saturday staged massive operations in al-Harra village, north of the city of Dara’a, paving the way for a full cleaning of the region from terrorists.

The operation was part of a broader combat operation carried out by the Syrian army in the north of Dara’a, which began a few days ago.

According to a report by Buratha news website, the Syrian security forces involved in heavy armed clashes with terrorists in the region.

During the operation, the Syrian army discovered and confiscated a huge amount of arms and munition in the operation. They also found a fully-equipped field hospi.

Heavy armed clashes are also underway in other regions of Dara’a in which dozens of terrorists have been killed by the Syrian army forces.

On Thursday, the Syrian defense minister praised the county's army for its courage in fighting one of the fiercest types of conflict to uproot terrorism in Syria.

Fahd al-Feij said during his Thursday evening visit to a Syrian military base that the Syrian army is tracking down foreign-backed terrorists who are “in service of the Israeli regime".

"The Syrian army is chasing mercenary terrorists around the clock across Syria who came from all over the world to implement colonial schemes in service of the Zionist entity (of Israel),” he said.

Syrian troops have recently been on the offensive in central Syria, making advances near the border with Lebanon and in the city of Homs, a rebel stronghold and Syria's third largest city.

Syria's crisis started in March 2011. It turned into an armed conflict after opposition supporters took up arms to fight the Syrian army and security forces. According to UN, more than 100,000 people have been killed in the violence so far.
