Iran Completes Relief, Rescue Operations in Flood-Hit Provinces

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Red Crescent Society has ended relief and rescue operations in four flood-hit provinces after floods caused by heavy rains left heavy damages in southern and southeastern regions of the country.

Floods have damaged tens of villages and several towns in Sistan and Balouchestan, Kerman, Isfahan, Fars and Hormozgan.

Speaking to Tasnim, Spokesman of Relief and Rescue Organization of Iran’s Red Crescent Society Hossein Derakhshan said the organization has ended operations in four provinces by Friday.

He added that operation is still underway in Sistan and Balouchestan.

Derakhshan further announced that 6 people were killed and one person was missed in the disaster.

The floods have damaged homes, power lines, agriculture and road infrastructure.
