UAE Expects Closer Ties with Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) foreign minister expressed the hope that the relations and mutual trust between Tehran and Abu Dhabi would further increase under President Rouhani's administration.

In a telephone conversation with Iran's outgoing Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Abdullah bin Zayed said he hopes that the mutual feelings and bilateral friendship will continue even after the end of Salehi's responsibility.

He also expressed the hope that the two countries’ relations would further expand and deepen after the start of the new Iranian government.

Salehi, for his part, referred to the bilateral cooperation in certain fields and the decisions adopted by the Iranian and Emirati governments, and voiced optimism about removal of any remaining obstacles to closer relations between the two Muslim countries.
