Committee to Hold Session on Iran Nuclear Deal Implementation: Shamkhani

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said the committee formed to monitor the implementation of a nuclear accord between Iran and world powers will hold session on Wednesday.

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency on Tuesday, Shamkhani said the committee’s periodic session will be held on Wednesday with all members in attendance.

He said that the committee will study the latest developments in the implementation process of the last year nuclear deal between Iran and the group 5+1 (the five permanent UNSC members plus Germany) and the steps taken in line with the text and spirit of the deal.

Earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called on all parties to the July 2015 nuclear agreement between Tehran and world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), to quickly fulfill their obligations under the deal.

“The full and rapid implementation of the undertakings (mentioned) in the nuclear agreement is an important criterion and basis for building confidence between Iran and other negotiating countries…,” President Rouhani in a meeting with President of French National Assembly Claude Bartolone in Tehran on Tuesday.

He emphasized that the Islamic Republic has met all its commitments under the JCPOA, stressing the need for the other parties to the deal to do the same.
