Iran Strongly Condemns Terrorist Bombing in Beirut

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Tehran strongly condemns the recent terrorist bomb blasts in Lebanon’s Beirut and voices sympathy with families of the victims, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman stated.

“The resisting Lebanese people, particularly the Islamic resistance (movement), will definitely foil the wicked plot hatched by the Zionists and their allies to destabilize Lebanon and stir rift among the country's ethnic groups on the verge of the anniversary of the glorious victories in the 33-day war (2006),” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Araqchi said on Thursday.

His remarks came shortly after a car bomb explosion killed at least 22 people and injured over 250 in Beirut's southern suburbs on Thursday.

Araqchi also expressed sympathy with families of the victims in the terrorist bombing, and called on all Lebanese to maintain their unity and vigilance against the plot which has targeted Lebanon’s national unity and sovereignty.
