Iran’s Petrochimi Knows Rivals at FIBA Asia Champions Cup

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Petrochimi basketball team from Iran has learnt its opponent at the 25th FIBA Asia Champions Cup.

The Iranian team has been drawn in Pool A along with Al Riyadi (LIB), ONGC (IND), Al Rayyan (QAT) and Pauian (TPE).

Pool B consists of Al Shorta (IRQ),  Barsy Atyrau (KAZ), Westports Malaysia Dragons (MAS), Al Ahli (UAE) and Xinjiang Flying Tigers (CHN).

The 25th FIBA Asia Champions Cup, Asia's premier basketball competition for clubs, will be held from 8-16 October in the city of Chenzhou-Hunan, China.

The Preliminary Round of the tournament will be played in a round robin format, with every team taking on its four opponents in its respective group.

The top four teams from each group will then advance to the Quarter-Final.

The winners of the Quarter-Final will advance to the Semi-Final, while the losing teams in the Quarter-Final will play 5-8 classification games.

The 24th edition was held in 2013 in Amman, Jordan where Iranian club Foolad Mahan Isfahan emerged victorious beating Al Rayyan from Qatar in the final.
