Basij Commander: Enemies Using Diverse Tactics against Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Enemies of the Islamic Revolution have always used threats against the nation, but the type of threats is constantly changing, a senior Iranian commander said, and noted that Tehran can repel threats through knowledge and awareness.

“The focus of enemy’s threat is constantly changing and knowlege can help (us in) confronting the enemy’s threats,” Commanderf of Basij (volunteer) Brigadier General Mohamad Reza Naqdi said in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad on Monday.

Also highlighting the need for gaining a better understanding of foreign threats as well as domestic opportunities, the Iranian commander went on to say, “We were facing military and security threats in the past, (but) at present these threats have changed into political and cultural ones.”

In recent years, Iran has devoted considerable efforts to adopting various measures to counter the enemies' ongoing soft war against the country.

In relevant remarks on August 14, Mohammad Ali Asudi, a cultural official with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said that a large number of the organization’s elite members have been tasked with implementing cultural, artistic and research projects as part of a major plan to thwart the enemies’ plots.

Earlier this year, Iran launched a base to counter enemy’s soft war.

The base is tasked with policy making in the state and military affairs to counter the soft war (tactics) of the enemies of the Islamic Republic in a more concerted manner.
