Iranian Envoys Meet President Ahead of Overseas Mission

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s new ambassadors to eight countries met with President Hassan Rouhani on Monday before starting their term.

The new heads of Iranian diplomatic missions in Norway, Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia, Qatar, Ghana, Uganda and Namibia met with President Rouhani in Tehran.

The president called on the new envoys to familiarize foreign investors as well as private and state-run sectors with Iran’s capabilities and capacities, asking them to prepare the ground for closer cooperation and implementation of joint projects.

In May, at a meeting with Iranian ambassadors and diplomats in Tehran, President Rouhani described Iran as a “trustworthy partner” for all countries across the world.

Referring to the removal of anti-Iran sanctions under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a nuclear deal between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany), Rouhani asked the country’s ambassadors to make every effort to attract foreign investors in the post-sanctions era.
