Iran to Powerfully Deal with Any Act of Aggression: DM

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan vowed the Islamic Republic’s crushing response to any act of aggression, saying the country would make anyone taking an aggressive measure against Iran regret it.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has never sought and will never seek war and confrontation with any country,” Brigadier General Dehqan said, addressing a gathering of Iranian military attachés in Tehran on Monday.

However, he underlined, Iran will powerfully and decisively deal with any act of aggression or excessive demand in a way that make the aggressor regret it.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the defense minister warned against the enemies’ plot to spread insecurity in the Middle East, saying that the US and the Zionist regime of Israel are making every attempt to insecure the region.

He called on regional countries to thwart the enemies’ plot through boosting cooperation and establishing a regional coalition.

Back in May 2015, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei also made it clear that the Iranian nation will not let any possible act of aggression against the country go unanswered.

“The era of hit and run has ended” and the Iranian nation will chase aggressors, the Leader said at the time.

In August this year, too, Imam Khamenei cautioned the adversaries that Iran’s response to any assault will not be confined to defense alone, but aggressors will face a crushing response.
