MP: US, Israel after Dragging Islamic States into Civil War
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A prominent Iranian lawmaker said the strategy of the US and the Zionist regime is to push the Islamic countries into civil war in which Muslims kill each other.
“It is a reality that the strategy of the United States and the Zionist regime (of Israel) is leading the Islamic countries to civil war in which Muslims kill each other,” Chairman of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Sunday.
The deviant Takfiris (extremists) in Syria kill Muslims in the name of Islam and even use chemical weapons there, and followers of other faiths are not immune from their acts, the Iranian lawmaker stated.
Boroujerdi said that the Islamic countries must rid themselves of this US-Zionist trap and use their weapons for defending themselves against their enemies.
Touching on the latest developments in Egypt, the MP said a dictator and a democratically-elected president could not have their positions switched if the Egyptian revolution had not followed Washington's footsteps and instead used the experiences of Iran and the guidelines proposed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
In relevant remarks on August 9, Ayatollah Khamenei had expressed concern about the tense conditions in Egypt, and said, “The possibility of outbreak of civil war in this country (Egypt) has increased, and this is a tragedy.”
Emphasizing the need for democracy in the North African country, the Leader stated that crisis in Egypt should be resolved by the Egyptians alone, and also dismissed any foreign interference in the Muslim country.
