BEIJING (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli held talks on a range of issues, including ways to promote bilateral relations between the two Asian countries in all spheres.

According to Tasnim dispatches, at the meeting in Beijing on Monday, Gaoli pointed to his visit to Iran and praised the people of the country as “civilized and hard-working”.

He further emphasized that Tehran and Beijing have been good friends over the past years and sided with each other in hardship and ease.

The top Chinese official added that orders issued by the two countries’ presidents on bilateral agreements should come into operation so that Tehran-Beijing relations will further expand.

Zarif, for his part, praised the growing relations between the two nations and said, “We and China have always been close friends.”

The Iranian foreign minister is in China on the second leg of his Asian tour that took him earlier to India.

There, he held talks with senior Indian officials and also attended the 6th conference of the ‘Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process’.

He is slated to pay a visit to Japan after high-profile meetings in China.
