Palestinian Activists Mount Int’l Campaign to End Gaza Siege

GAZA City (Tasnim) – Palestinian activists launched an international campaign to break Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has denied two million Palestinians their fundamental rights.

Dubbed “Hand in Hand to Break Gaza Siege”, the international campaign officially started its activity on Monday by holding a press conference in the besieged enclave, according to Tasnim dispatches.

During the presser, the Palestinian activists said the campaign seeks to put an end to the pain and suffering of the Palestinians caused by the long-term blockade.

A spokesman for the campaign urged the international community to fulfil its responsibilities and refrain from cooperating with the Zionist regime of Israel in various fields, economy in particular.

The Gaza Strip has been under an Israeli siege since 2007. The blockade has led to a dramatic decline in the standards of living as well as substantial levels of unemployment and poverty.
