IRGC Official: Enemies after Misleading Public Opinion about Islamic Revolution

“The enemy is now after a shift in public opinion about the Islamic Revolution through its sly methods and using top media experts,” Head of the IRGC Public Relations Department General Ramezan Sharif said in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad on Monday.

The Iranian commander also warned against the ongoing plots masterminded by enemies with the aim of detracting from the position of leadership among the public, the youth in particular, and urged all IRGC members to do their best to raise awareness about various hostile plots by “the media empire” of the sworn enemies of the Islamic Revolution.

“In its media, the enemy never confesses to the root cause of failure of its hostile plans and measures in regional countries,” Sharif pointed out, adding that enemies have instead embarked on waging a psychological war against IRGC and its popularity among the nation.

In relevant remarks on August 20, Mohammad Ali Al-e Hashem, a senior Iranian military official, cautioned that enemies of Iran are seeking to dishearten the nation and to spread disappointment in the society via soft war tactics.

“Today, our enemies are trying to dominate our children by resorting to soft war tactics and, to that end, they are using diverse tactics such as (spreading western) fashions, promotion of promiscuity, narcotics, and fomenting ethnic strife as well as spreading disappointment inside the society,” he said at the time.

In recent years, Iran has devoted considerable efforts to adopting various measures to counter the enemies' ongoing soft war against the country.

Soft war is a term used by Iranian officials to refer to the cultural invasion and soft intelligence tactics used by foreign countries deemed hostile toward Iran.
