Boxing Coach Barbaro Fernandez Jimenez Arrives in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Barbaro Fernandez Jimenez arrived in Tehran Monday morning to start his work as head coach of the Iranian national boxing team.

The 52-year-old Cuban coach will be assisted by Asghar Sharafi, Alireza Estaki and Homayoun Amiri in his role.

2006 Asian Games gold medal winner Ali Mazaheri will also join coaching staff.

Jimenez has been appointed as Iran’s boxing coach following poor run of results.

The Cuban coach, who has already worked as Indonesia coach, will hold a meeting with the Iranian boxing officials and then attend the training in the afternoon.
