Iran Girls’ U-18 Volleyball Team Beaten by American Team
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran girls’ U-18 volleyball team was defeated against champion of USA universities in a friendly game on Sunday.
The Iranian team lost to its rival in straight sets (25-15, 25-16, 25-14) in Maribor, Slovenia.
Majda Cicic’s girls had already lost to Slovenian teams in their three previous friendlies.
“The American players were older than our players and they have played together for many years. Our players have recently started the professional volleyball and there is a long way ahead of them,” Cicic said.
“Our players are eager to learn new things and it will help them to progress. They are doing their best in the training,” she added.
Iranian girls’ U-18 volleyball team started its 11-day training camp in Slovenia last week.
Iran is preparing for the 11th Asian Girls U-18 Volleyball Championship which will be held in Chongqing, China from March 5 to 13.
