Lawmaker: US Behavior Reminiscent of Hitler’s Moves

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian parliamentarian lashed out at the US for its efforts to find allies for invading Syria, and said the US behavior today reminds us of Adolf Hitler’s moves.

Speaking to Tasnim on Thursday, Abdolreza Azizi pointed to the US war rhetoric against Syria and its efforts to rally support for military attack on the crisis-hit country, and stated that war in Syria will start World War III.

"Like Hitler who started World War II, the US is igniting World War III.”

“Presently the Syrian Army is at the peak of its power and its power increases with the passage of each new day, and therefore it does not need to use the chemical weapons,” Azizi said, questioning the reason behind the US and its allies’ allegations that Syrian troops have used chemical weapons near Damascus.

Earlier, Syria’s UN envoy asked for immediate survey about at least three other cases of the Syrian insurgents’ usage of chemical weapons, as proof for their earlier usage of them that intrigued the US and western anti-Syrian rhetoric.

The Syrian government is demanding that the United Nations immediately investigate three alleged chemical attacks carried out by rebel groups on the outskirts of Damascus last week, Syria’s envoy to the UN said on Wednesday.

Ambassador Bashar Jafari said he had requested of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon that the team of experts currently in Damascus investigating an alleged use of chemical weapons last week also investigate these other attacks.

The United States, Britain and France blame Assad's forces for the August 21 attack using chemical weapons, while Damascus has pointed the finger at terrorist rebels.
