Farajzadeh Elected as Iran Karate Federation President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mohammad Sadegh Farajzadeh has been elected as president of Iran Karate Federation on Tuesday.

In the elections attended by Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Masoud Soltanifar in Tehran’s Olympic Academy, Farajzadeh managed to capture 24 votes.

He will remain in the post until 2021.

“Since karate has been added to the Olympic program for the 2020 Tokyo Games, we ask for special attention to the sport. In my opinion, Iran has great potential in Karate,” Farajzadeh said.

“Hopefully, Iran’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports can support us in the future,” he added.
