Iranian VP Criticizes US Wrong Policy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The US needs to revise its foreign policy and abandon bullying actions in order to ensure its security at home, Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said.

In an address to a social event in Tehran on Wednesday, Jahangiri reminded the US government that military campaigns against Middle East nations such as Iraq and Afghanistan and the massacre of civilians has inevitably upset security in the US.

“To change this situation, they (US leaders) must change their policies,” he added.

The vice president also condemned a new order banning people, even visa-holders, from several countries from entering the US, stressing that the American government will be able to ensure its security only if it stops its bullying behavior.

New US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on January 27 that bars all persons from seven countries from entering the US for 90 days and suspends the US Refugee Admissions Program for 120 days. The countries impacted are Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen and Somalia.

In comments on Wednesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said it would be a mistake for a president to think that imposing an entry ban could separate human beings.
