Armenian PM to Visit Iran Soon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Armenia’s Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan said his country’s prime minister will pay a visit to Iran in the near future.

Sargsyan, who is in Tehran on an official visit, on Thursday said Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan plans to travel to Iran in the coming weeks.

He made the remark in a meeting with Head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran’s Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati, highlighting the constructive collaborations between Tehran and Yerevan.

Sargsyan referred to his meetings with senior Iranian officials over the past few days and said he held good talks with Iran’s defense and foreign ministers, parliament speaker and secretary of the country’s Supreme National Security Council.

He stressed that Iran and Armenia face common challenges and can tackle those challenges through mutual collaborations.

He went on to say that the two countries have had good cooperation in the field of energy and their ties should develop in other areas as well.

The Armenian defense minister arrived in Tehran on Monday.
