Germany Supports Transfer of New Technologies to Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A German deputy foreign minister gave an assurance that the government would support the process of transferring new technologies to Iran through private sector investment.

German companies in diverse industrial fields are eager to invest in Iran on the basis of transferring new technologies, and the Berlin government backs such process, State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Markus Ederer said at a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for American and European Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi, held in Berlin on Tuesday.

The German diplomat also expressed his country’s readiness to promote cooperation with Iran in all areas, particularly the economic interaction.

For his part, the Iranian deputy foreign minister stressed the need for the removal of obstacles to banking ties with Germany.

The two diplomats also discussed the latest regional and international developments, and put an emphasis on political solutions for ensuring peace and stability in the Middle East.

Iran and Germany have held regular political talks after implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a nuclear agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany), which took effect in January 2016.
