Israeli Troops Fire 5 Smoke Bombs at Lebanese Protesters

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli forces Saturday hurled smoke bombs into Lebanon from across the barbed wire border fence, Hezbollah's media reported.

The Hezbollah-linked Media War Center said via Twitter that Israeli forces had fired five smoke bombs at a small rally in Mais al-Jabal, the Daily Star reported.

The rally was staged to protest Israeli forces' installation of spying devices and monitoring of their agricultural lands.

Lebanese MP Qassem Hashem and a number of journalists took part in the rally.

An Israeli infantry unit crossed the technical fences Wednesday and installed surveillance systems that operate using solar power.

The National News Agency reported several suffocation cases among the protesters.

Israeli warplanes flew over the area following the incident, NNA added.
