Yemeni Forces Fire Missiles at Saudi Targets
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemeni troops and allied voluntary fighters fired missiles at Saudi Arabian military bases in retaliation for bombardments by a Saudi-led military coalition that has killed thousands of Yemeni civilians since March 2015.
According to al-Masirah television, Yemeni military forces hit a center in which Saudi troops had congregated in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Aseer with a Zelzal-2 missile.
A Yemeni military source also confirmed that a Grad missile has been launched at Alab crossing in the same region.
Moreover, Yemeni snipers killed a Saudi troop in east of Saudi Arabia’s al-Raboah, near the joint border, on Wednesday.
Yemeni people have been under massive attacks by a coalition led by the Saudi regime for two years.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
According to the United Nations humanitarian coordinator for Yemen, Jamie McGoldrick, the Saudi military campaign has claimed the lives of 10,000 Yemenis and left 40,000 others wounded.
Local sources say the Saudi war has so far claimed the lives of at least 11,400 Yemenis.
The Saudi military aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
