Over 5bln Cubic Meters of Gas Produced in Phase 19 of Iran’s Southern Field

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Phase 19 of Iran’s South Pars gas field so far has produced nearly 5.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas, the executive manager of the development project of the phase announced.

The efforts made by domestic experts to implement the development plan of phase 19 are praiseworthy since it has made significant progress, Hamidreza Massoudi said on Sunday.

He said about 5.5 billion cubic meters of gas have been produced in the phase and injected into the national gas network.

The official also said production of butane and propane has started in phase 19, adding that currently, about 14 tons of each are produced per hour.

The South Pars gas field, whose development has been divided into 28 phases, is located in the Persian Gulf straddling the maritime border between Iran and Qatar.

It is estimated that the Iranian section of the field contains 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of condensates in place.
