Saudi Mercenaries Killed in Clashes with Yemeni Army

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen’s defense ministry said the country’s army and popular committees have killed 17 mercenaries of the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh, in clashes in central Yemen.

The defense ministry said in severe clashes with the Saudi mercenaries and al-Qaeda-linked terrorists in al-Quraishyah District in the central province of al-Bayda, the army and popular committees killed 17 enemy troops.

It said 20 mercenaries were also injured in the clashes with the army forces.

The attacks against Saudi mercenaries came in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by a coalition led by the Saudi regime.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for nearly two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Nearly 11,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
