Iran's President to Visit Russia Next Week: Kremlin

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to pay an official visit to Russia on March 27-28, the Kremlin said on Thursday.

Rouhani will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 28, Kremlin's press service said in a statement.

The two sides are expected to discuss a range of issues, including the latest developments in the region.

Russia and Iran hold regular and close consultation on the region, Syria in particular, toward coordinating their efforts in helping restore security to Western Asia and the Arab country.

Russia, a Syria ally, has been providing military assistance to Damascus in its battle against foreign-backed terrorism. Iran, also an ally of Damascus, has been lending advisory support to the Syrian counterterrorism push.
