Int’l Quran Competition to Open in Iran Tomorrow

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The 34th International Holy Quran Competition will open in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Wednesday with the participation of dozens of Quran reciters and memorizers from various countries.

The opening ceremony of the religious event is planned to be held in Tehran at 5 p.m. (local time) on Wednesday with a speech delivered by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

Participants in the 34th International Holy Quran Competition of Iran are planned to start their competition on Thursday.  

An international Quran contest for the visually-impaired is planned to get underway on Wednesday, too.

Iran will also host other international Quran competitions in coming days, including one for school students, which will start on Saturday, April, 22, and one for women, slated for Sunday, April 23.
