Takfiri Terrorists Suffer Major Losses across Syria

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syria’s army and its allies stepped up their attacks on Takfiri terrorists across the Arab country, inflicting heavy material losses and casualties on them.

On Saturday, Syrian forces launched an attack against the positions of the Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (formerly al-Nusra Front) terrorist group in the southwestern province of Daraa, killing scores of the militants and destroying eight of their vehicles in the town of al-Naima, Syria’s official SANA news agency reported.

Additionally, the terrorists suffered serious setbacks in the city of Daraa al-Balad after the army launched an offensive against them and destroyed six of their vehicles.

Separately, the Syrian forces repelled a major attack by Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorists in the area of al-Maqaber in the eastern province of Deir ez-Zor, and managed to kill at least 17 militants in the counterattack.

Also, Syrian troops killed and injured a large number of al-Nusra terrorists in the districts of Kisin and Burj Qa’ee in northern edges of Homs central province.

Over the past six years, Syria has been fighting foreign-sponsored militancy. UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura estimated in August that more than 400,000 people had been killed in the Syrian crisis until then. The UN has stopped its official casualty count in Syria, citing its inability to verify the figures it receives from various sources.
