Iran’s Kazemzadeh Wins Bronze at ASBC Asian Boxing Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sajjad Kazemzadeh from Iran claimed a bronze medal in the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships on Friday.

The Iranian boxer lost to Uzbekistan's Rio 2016 Olympic Games silver medallist Shakhram Giyasov in the semi-final and won the bronze medal.

Kazemzadeh qualified for the World Boxing Championships in Hamburg, Germany later this year.

The Iranian team will be headed by Cuban coach Barbaro Fernandez Jimenez.

Iran has participated in the competition with eight boxers.

The 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships kicked off in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on April 28 and will finish May 8.
