Spain to Launch Support Center for Its Firms in Iran, Envoy Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Spanish Ambassador to Iran Eduardo Lopez Busquets said his country plans to open a support center in Tehran in an attempt to provide guarantees for its firms active in the Islamic Republic’s petrochemical sector.
Spain is keen on establishing a framework for accelerating interactions between Spanish and Iranian companies in order to facilitate financing of projects and exports of petrochemicals, Lopez Busquets said in a meeting on Monday with Marzieh Shahdaei, head of the National Petrochemical Company of Iran (NPC), according to Shana.
The Spanish official added that Madrid would soon set up a center in Tehran to help its companies solve their problems in trade with Iran, noting that Spanish banks are also ready to offer guarantees for all petrochemical agreements signed between the two countries.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 22nd Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition underway in Tehran, Shana news agency reported.
The International exhibition, also known as Iran Oil Show, kicked off in the Iranian capital on Saturday with more than 4,000 domestic and foreign companies showcasing their latest technical achievements.
Countries such as China, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Japan, the Netherlands, Austria, South Korea and Australia have their own pavilions in the Iran Oil Show.
Major foreign exhibitors include Wintershall Holding GmbH (Germany), Siemens (Germany), Lukoil (Russia), OMV (Austria), and ONGC (India).
