Syria Army Missile Hits Daesh Position in Deir Ez-Zor
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syria’s army and its allies, backed by the Arab country’s warplanes, fired a guided missile at a position of Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorists in the eastern province of Deir ez-Zor, leaving large groups of them dead and wounded.
On Tuesday, Syrian forces inflicted major losses on Daesh militants after targeting their gathering center in the southern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, Syria's official SANA news agency reported.
Scores of them were killed on the spot and several of their vehicles destroyed after the moment of impact.
Meanwhile, Daesh terrorists on Monday crucified a young man in al-Bukamal city and whipped another man in al-Taas village in the western countryside of the province.
The Takfiri group also abducted 4 citizens and stole hundreds of sheep from the locals in the villages of al-Kabar and al-Jazrat in the province, the report added.
Over the past six years, Syria has been fighting foreign-sponsored militancy. UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura estimated in August that more than 400,000 people had been killed in the Syrian crisis until then. The UN has stopped its official casualty count in Syria, citing its inability to verify the figures it receives from various sources.
