Iran Sweeps Malaysia at Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran started the 2017 Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship with a victory over Malaysia on Sunday.

The Iranian team swept past Malaysian team in straight sets (25–21, 25–23, 25–16) in Pool D at the Mall Nakhon Ratchasima’s MCC Hall.

The Persians will play New Zealand on Monday.

The 2017 Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship is a biennial international volleyball tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA).

The tournament will serve as the Asian qualifiers for the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women's U-23 World Championship held in Ljubljana and Maribor, Slovenia with the top two ranked teams qualifying for the world championship.
