Iran Comes Third at Asian Beach Handball Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran won the bronze medal of the 2017 Asian Beach Handball Championship on Monday.
The Iranian team defeated Vietnam 2-1 (15-10, 16-20, 8-6) and claimed the bronze medal in Pattaya, Thailand.
Iran had already lost to Vietnam in Group stage.
Iran also booked a place at the 2018 IHF World Beach Handball Championships in Sochi, Russia.
In the final match, Qatar defeated Oman 2-0 (15-14, 17-10) and won the title.
The tournament brought a total of nine teams together.
The top three teams qualified for the Beach Handball World Championship.
