Iran Loses to Vietnam at Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran suffered a 3-0 defeat to Vietnam at the 2017 Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship on Tuesday.

The Iranian team, who defeated Malaysia (3-0) and New Zealand (3-0), lost to Vietnam in straight sets (25-19, 25-17, 25-19) at the Mall Nakhon Ratchasima’s MCC Hall.

Sima Sedighi’s girls will play Japan on Wednesday.

The 2017 Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship is a biennial international volleyball tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA).

The tournament will serve as the Asian qualifiers for the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women's U-23 World Championship held in Ljubljana and Maribor, Slovenia with the top two ranked teams qualifying for the world championship.
