Islamic Solidarity Games: Table Tennis Player Noshad Alamyan Captures Gold
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Noshad Alamyan defeated his brother Nima Alamyan, both from Iran, to win the gold medal in the table tennis of the Islamic Solidarity Games on Friday.
Nima lost to Noshad 3-4 (11-13, 11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 10-12, 16-14, 9-11).
Qatar’s Ping defeated Turkey’s Ahmet LI 4-1 (11-7, 11-6, 8-11, 11-2, 11- 7) in 29 minutes for the bronze medal.
More than 3,000 athletes from 54 countries of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation are competing in 21 sports at the Games.
The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
