Yemeni Forces Fire Two Homegrown Missiles at Saudi-Backed Mercenaries
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen’s army targeted a gathering of Saudi-backed mercenaries in northeast of the capital, Sana’a, with a homegrown ballistic missile dubbed “Zelzal-2” in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in the Arabian Peninsula country.
The missile command of the Yemeni army fired the ballistic missile at the militants’ position in the Nehm district, a military source said on Wednesday, according to the Lebanon-based al-Mayadeen TV channel.
More than 70 terrorists were either killed or injured in the missile attack, the report added.
In a separate development, the Yemeni troops fired a missile at the hideouts of the militants in the Red Sea port city of Mokha, situated 346 kilometers south of the capital, inflicting major losses on them.
Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
According to Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development, the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,000 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
