Two Saudi Servicemen Killed by Yemeni Snipers in Jizan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Snipers of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees, in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi-led coalition, shot to death two Saudi servicemen in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Jizan, local reports said.

In an operation on Monday, the Yemeni snipers managed to target several Saudi troops in Jizan, killing two of them, the Arabic-language al-Ahed news website reported.

The artillery command of Yemen’s army also announced that its forces have pounded several military bases in Jizan and Najran in southwestern Saudi Arabia with mortar shells.

In another development, the missile command of the army hit Saudi Arabia’s al-Sadis military base in Najran, according to the report.

The attacks by the Yemeni forces were carried out in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.

Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Yemen’s resigned president.

According to Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development, the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,000 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
