Iran Loses to Serbia in FIVB Volleyball World League

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Serbia 3-1 (20 – 25, 23 – 25, 25 – 16, 16 – 25) in Pool D1 of the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League.

In the match held in the full-packed Azadi’s 12000 spectators, Amir Ghafour put the most points on the board for Iran, 13.

Serbian Uros Kovacevic scored 18 points for his team on Saturday.

Iran, who defeated Belgium 3-2 on Friday, will play Argentina on Sunday.

The FIVB World League is the premier annual men's volleyball tournament with a total of 36 participating teams in 2017.

The 36 teams have been split into three groups of 12 teams and will play the preliminary round in a pool format over three weeks, before the best teams gather for the finals in each group.
