Terror Plots against Iran Doomed to Defeat: Top General

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces advised the enemies of Iran and their regional allies to learn lessons from the terrible fate their proxies met in the terrorist attacks in Tehran, stressing that all hostile plots against Iranians are doomed to failure.

The hegemonic system and Zionism that employ their cohorts, namely the regional reactionary regimes and rulers of tribal regimes who are unfamiliar to democracy, benefit from Saudi dollars, and dispatch the terrorists trained by their intelligence services to Iran will suffer defeat and a scandalous fate, Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said in a message on Sunday.

His message was read to a ceremony commemorating the Iranian people martyred in June 7 terrorist attacks in Tehran.

The senior commander also warned the “participants in a recent sword dance party in Saudi Arabia” and those who still seek plots to upset security in Iran to learn lessons from the fate that their proxies met in the recent attacks in Tehran and to stop even thinking about repeating mistakes.

On June 7, terrorists launched simultaneous attacks on Iran’s parliament building in downtown Tehran and on the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini, south of the city.

The Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attacks, which killed 17 people and wounded more than 40. All five gunmen involved in the attacks were killed by the security forces.

On Thursday, the Intelligence Ministry released the pictures and first names of the perpetrators, identifying them as Qayyoum, Abu Jihad, Ramin, Serias, and Fereydoun, without announcing their surnames.

According to the statement, the five attackers were terrorists with criminal backgrounds who were linked to “Wahhabi and Takfiri groups.”
