Saeid Marouf: Iran Did Not Play Good against Russia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran volleyball team's captain Saeid Marouf said that they didn’t play good against Russia in the 2017 FIVB World League.

Iran was defeated against Russia in straight sets (26-24, 25-18, 25-18) in week 3 on Sunday.

“I think it was not a good match, but we had lost a chance to qualify for the FIVB World League Final Six before and for Russia it was very important game,” Marouf said in the post-match news conference.

“It’s good that we played with six other players. They played very good even if they don’t have a lot of experience from this World League. They played with their maximum, but it’s Russia and they were perfect in serve and block during this tournament and it was difficult to play against them,” the Iran captain concluded.
