Iran’s Rahman Ourameh Wins Bronze at IWF Junior World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Rahman Ourameh from Iran claimed a bronze medal at the 2017 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships on Wednesday.

Ourameh lifted 159kg in the snatch and 205kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 364kg in the 94kg weight category at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Japan's capital.

Uzbekistan’s Farkhodbek Sobirov improved on his total of 390kg which saw him take gold.

The silver medal went to Yahheni Tsikhantsou from Belarus after posting a total of 378kg.

A Total of 265 (108 Women / 157 Men) athletes from 50 countries started their competition the capital city of Japan. Women will represent 31 countries while the number will be 45 for Men.
